ABOUT US

Claye Properties principals are themselves investors. Since 2005, Claye Properties has provided asset and property management services seeking to maximize investment returns for themselves as well as their investors. Every community they manage is operated with a unique sense of ownership ultimately focused on maximizing the Return On Investment.

Claye Properties objective is to deliver the best value possible while never overlooking the need to provide excellent customer service. Each community requires its own strategy that emphasizes the available amenities while also addressing the needs of residents. We want our customers to be proud of where they live as we know word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertisement.

Scott & Deborah Tenney formed Claye Properties in 2005 with the objective of purchasing and managing income producing multi-family real estate. The original goal was to find profitable, cash positive real estate investments where they could invest their own capital. That idea grew to include other investment partners with whom they still enjoy relationships today.

Scott Tenney is the Chief Executive Officer of Claye Properties, Inc. Scott heads all acquisitions, dispositions, financing, renovation work and investor relations. Scott is also very focused on sales and marketing, which we believe is the cornerstone to success in the multifamily environment.

Prior to Claye, Scott spent 20 years with one of Houston’s largest building supply companies. While there he held several key sales and management positions, including Executive Sales Manager. His leadership in sales, operations, and business development contributed to a 12 year period of historic growth for this 70+ year old company.

Scott began his career with one of Houston’s largest homebuilders as a Construction Manager, the youngest in the company’s history. While there he completed over 250 single family homes, model home parks and renovation projects.

Scott is a member of the Houston Apartment Association, Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association. Scott has been recognized at the local and national level and has been a featured speaker at numerous real estate events and seminars. Scott has always been active mentoring less experienced apartment owners, which he still enjoys doing today. He is a past member and chair of the Houston Apartment Association IROC Committee. Scott was honored to receive one of the highest achievement awards bestowed on an independent apartment owner when he received the National Apartment Association PARAGON Award for Independent Owner of the Year.
